Keeping the wheels turning on a 150-year-old heritage railway is very, very expensive and no small task for the army of volunteers. Restoring historic locomotives and vintage rolling stock comes with huge costs while maintaining an ageing infrastructure.
By Donating to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway Preservation Society, you are helping to preserve the history and heritage of the 5-mile railway. Future generations will be able to enjoy the sight, sounds & smells of real living history.
If you pay income tax, you can add Gift Aid, worth an additional 25%, to your donation at no extra cost.
Are you a UK tax payer? If so, every £1 you give could be worth £1.25 to us, helping us fund our charitable work.
Gift Aid is a form of tax relief and, as a charity, we are able to claim back the tax on your admission to the garden as we can class your admission as a “charitable donation”.
We can claim back Gift Aid on your “donation” as long as you have agreed to pay the higher admission price that includes an additional 10% donation.
Regulations laid down by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) require all charitable attractions to ask visitors for an additional 10% donation on their admission before Gift Aid can be claimed.
By claiming Gift Aid on your donation we will gain an additional 25p for every £1 you have given us. This money will help fund our valuable charitable work.
Please treat my payment as a Gift Aid donation. I confirm I have paid or will pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for the current tax year (April 6 2023 to April 5 2024) that is at least equal to the amount of tax that all the charities or Community Amateur Sports Clubs will reclaim on my gifts for this tax year. I understand that other taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify. I understand the charity will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give. I acknowledge that these Gift Aided tickets are for myself or members of my family.
Please do NOT treat my payment as a Gift Aid donation.
