Join, mixed-media artist David Evans for this obelisk making workshop. Where he will teach you the techniques of weaving with this versatile natural, sustainable material, starting with the basic structure and building up to a finished obelisk, which, we know, will take pride of place in your garden.

This workshop is perfect for anyone who loves gardening or wants to add a unique and beautiful accent to their outdoor space.

As well as David’s expert guidance, you will provide all the materials and tools you need, including freshly harvested willow branches and scissors.

During the workshop, you will learn how to select the best willow branches and prepare them for weaving, and how to create a sturdy and aesthetically pleasing structure.

In addition to learning a new skill, this workshop is a wonderful opportunity to meet other creative and like-minded people. You can share your ideas, ask questions, and get inspiration from the fellow participants.

And, by the end of the workshop, you will have a beautiful and functional, sustainably sourced, willow obelisk to take home and to enjoy for years to come.

This event will take place outside in our outdoor classroom. Please come dressed in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty or wet. You will also need to wear flat, closed toed boots or shoes.

In the event of inclement weather, an indoor space will be available for the workshop to proceed.

The event does not include parking; a ticket can be pre-bought on line from our website or from one of the machines in the visitor car-park.
